Summary 

The 2000 South Africa Income and Expenditure Survey collected data on income and household expenses in October 2000.  The households that were visited as part of this IES were also visited for the 2000 labor force survey conducted in September. The primary purpose of this survey was to determine the Consumer Price Index. The survey also included water source, housing construction materials and type of housing.  Data are available on request from the South Africa Data Archive (SADA).
