New Zealand Population and Housing Census 2013

The 2013 census of population and housing in New Zealand was conducted by Statistics New Zealand, via the delivery and collection of self-administered questionnaires by enumerators. The questionnaire covered a variety of demographic and socioeconomic topics, as well as questions on disability and tobacco use. Respondents also had the option of completing questionnaires online. This resulted in an online response rate of 34 percent, with the rest being collected through paper forms. The total population of New Zealand was enumerated at 4,242,048, which was a 5.3 percent increase.
