Summary

Most of the information gathered for this report was collected from the 1991 Nigerian Population Census, the post census enumeration survey, and the 1999 Nigerian DHS. The age coverage of children, adolescents, and youth covers birth through 18 years of age and young adulthood (18-24 years old). Age ranges fluctuate by chapter with further breakdowns by school grade age range and within adolescence. The report covers basic population data including relationship of respondents to head of household; literacy and educational attainment, marital status, fertility, literacy regarding reproductive health, contraception, stds including HIV, abortion, and the practice of female circumcision. Other chapters contain data on mortality, employment, and disability status.
