Summary 

Since 1989 the Survey of Household Income and Wealth (SHIW) has included a panel portion. For the 2007 survey 8,012 households were interviewed on the topics of income, wealth, payment instruments, and insurance as well as household consumer behavior, housework, and care for family members. Although the survey was conducted in 2001, the questions pertained to household activities and conditions in 2000.
