Since 1989 the Survey of Household Income and Wealth (SHIW) has included a panel portion. For the 1999 survey 7,147 households were interviewed on the topics of sources of income, components of wealth, payment methods, insurance, expected income, and labor market flexibility. Although the survey was conducted in 1999, the questions pertained to household activities and conditions in 1998.
