Summary
The Laos MICS 2011-2012 is part of round 4 of the MICS series and phase 6 of the DHS series. The survey was designed using the technical frameworks of both the MICS and the Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS). The survey covers nutrition, education, water and sanitation, marriage and sexual activity, fertility and mortality, contraception, HIV/AIDS, child protection, and use of mass media and information technology. Out of a sample size of 19,960 households, interviews were successfully completed for 18,843 households, 22,746 women ages 15 to 49, 9,951 men ages 15 to 49, and 11,067 children under the age of five.
