Summary
The Jamaica Cancer Registry began in 1958 and has operated continuously since that time. It gathers data on cancer in the populations of the Kingston and St. Andrew areas. This report includes diagnoses from these resident populations for 1988-1992. Data were coded using ICD-9 and tabulated by age and sex, using the 1991 census counts. Carcinoma-in-situ (including CIN III) was maintained as a separate category and not as part of the total number of neoplasms.
