Summary
The Spot Survey on Tobacco Trends, in use since 1998, is a biannual survey that monitors and identifies the prevailing trends, patterns, and attitudes related to tobacco and tobacco use.
The December 2012 survey focused on the following districts: Colombo, Gampaha, Galle, Kegalle, Anuradhapura, Jaffna, Batticaloa, Kandy, Rathnapura, and Vavunia. The survey was conducted in December 2012 over a period of one month and covered a total number of 2,349 male respondents ages 15 and above.
The report is titled Spot Survey December 2012: Trends in Tobacco Consumption. It features a comparative analysis of the results from December 2012 with those of December 2011 and a chart comparison of tobacco use trends results from July 2000 to December 2012.
