Summary
The Central African Republic Demographic and Health Survey 1994-1995 is part of phase 3 of the Demographic and Health Survey (DHS) series, a comprehensive, nationally representative household survey. Topics commonly covered in DHS include: child and maternal health, family planning, nutrition, health behaviors, health care access and use, and immunization.
For the 1994-1995 Central African Republic DHS, 5,884 women ages 15-49 and 1,729 men ages 15-59 were successfully interviewed from 5,551 households. Anthropometric information was collected from respondents, and an iodine salt test was conducted. In addition to the standard topics, this survey also collected data about the local practice and consequences of female circumcision.
