Summary
The Kenya Demographic and Health Survey 1993 is part of phase 3 of the DHS series, a comprehensive, nationally representative household survey. Covers population, education, health, nutrition, family planning and household characteristics. In addition to the household, women's, and men's questionnaires, there was a questionnaire on health service availability in the area. The questionnaire focused on family planning-related services.
The North-Eastern province of Kenya and the northern districts of Samburu and Turkana in Rift Valley Province and Isiolo and Marsabit in Eastern Province were not included in this survey. However, the excluded areas account for less than 4% of the national population.
