Summary
The Kenya Demographic and Health Survey 1998 is part of phase 3 of the DHS series, a comprehensive, nationally representative household survey. Covers population, education, health, nutrition, family planning and household characteristics. GPS coordinates were collected during the survey, but the files were not released.
The North-Eastern province of Kenya and the northern districts of Samburu and Turkana in Rift Valley Province and Isiolo and Marsabit in Eastern Province were not included in this survey. However, the excluded areas account for less than 4% of the national population.
