The Ireland Perinatal Statistics Report 2009 presents national statistics on perinatal events for the year 2009 based on data collected from Part 3 of the Birth Notification Form (BNF01) for the National Perinatal Reporting System (NPRS). NPRS is Ireland's central system for perinatal data collection. The report is divided in five sections and provides background information on the NPRS system, tables with international comparisons on selected variables, tables relating to maternal and paternal demographics and distribution of previous stillbirths, and tables related to mother's antenatal care and use of health care facilities. The report also includes tables on perinatal outcomes focusing on death and appendices with definitions and source data tables.
