Pakistan Housing and Population Census 1998 - IPUMS
General Info
Censuses provide population numbers, household or family size and composition, and information on sex and age distribution. They often include other demographic, economic and health-related topics as well. The 1998 Pakistan de facto and de jure census collected data through face-to-face interviews through long and short forms. The census day was March 5, 1998, and the fieldwork continued until March 15. A 10% sample of households (13,102,024 individuals) is available through IPUMS International at the University of Minnesota. The sample only contains short form data. Dwellings, vacant units, and group institutions are not identified in the microdata. Though the census covered all of Pakistan, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, the sample does not include the Federally Administered Tribal Areas, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan provinces. Refer to the IPUMS website for guidelines on citing database versions.
