The Global Human Settlement grid dataset, supprorted by the European Commission, Joint Research Centre, is a geospatial built environment layer based on data extracted from heterogeneous sources, including satellite data, census data, and crowdsourced data. The dataset contains a 1 km grid for each epoch (1975, 1990, 2000, and 2015). This version is based on REGIO model using Landsat and data and population data from CIESIN GPW v4.
