Summary
The Global Youth Tobacco Survey (GYTS) is nationally representative survey of students between 13-15 years of age. The GYTS uses a consistent, standard protocol across all participating countries and is intended to generate comparable data. In 2019, a total of 9,992 students participated. The survey covered topics such as knowledge about smoking, smoking habits, access to and availability of cigarettes, secondhand smoke, and tobacco advertisements and marketing.
