Summary
The implementation of the Guatemala Health and Nutrition Epidemiological Surveillance System 2013 consisted of a cross-sectional survey in a sample made up of 1,025 children between the ages of 0 and 59 months and 1,974 pregnant and non-pregnant women between the ages of 15 and 49, residing in 2,503 homes that make up a nationally representative sample. Data was collected via interview, anthropometric measurement, blood pressure measurement, the collection of biological samples (blood and urine) for analysis of biochemical indicators and the collection of food samples for quantitative determination of fortification levels with micronutrients.
