Summary

Wave 2 of the Australia Longitudinal Study of Children followed two cohorts of 5000 children each. Successive waves of this survey will follow cohorts through adulthood. Survey respondents included parents, teachers, and home-/center-based child care providers. Questions covered topics such as family interactions, child care, types and duration of activities that parents engage in with their children, child support payments, work hours and schedules, binge drinking, life-changing events, and child development. Caretakers completed a diary questionnaire about children’s behavior and activities on a given day.
