Information on long-term conditions was self-reported; the study focused primarily on asthma, cancer, diabetes, and heart and circulatory conditions. Questions on a number of lifestyle behaviors covered smoking, alcohol consumption, exercise, obesity, and dietary habits. The sample size was 25,234 private households from all states and territories, across all age groups. Out of 19,501 households, 25,906 people were interviewed.
