Summary

The Bolivia Demographic and Health Survey 1989 is part of phase 1 of the Demographic and Health Survey (DHS) series. Topics commonly covered in DHS include child and maternal health, family planning, nutrition, health behavior and knowledge, health care access and use, and immunization. The Bolivia 1989 included verbal autopsy questions for children born after 1984. Anthropomorphic measurements were taken for children ages 3-36 months. The survey was designed to be subnationally representative, except for the low population departments Beni and Pando which were treated as one department.
