Summary

This survey was executed as part of the Program for the Improvement of Surveys and the Measurement of Living Conditions in Latin America and the Caribbean (MECOVI). In Bolivia these national surveys, known variously as Encuesta Continua de Hogares or Encuesta de Hogares, were executed under the MECOVI program from 1999-2002 and the National Institute for Statistics has continued to carry out similar household surveys on an annual basis. In 2001 living conditions were measured through data collection on subjects of health and health care access, fertility, employment, income, expenditures, education, basic services, and housing. Questions on religion, disability, and unpaid domestic work were also included in the 2001 questionnaire. The sample size was 5,744 households.
