Excluded from the sampling frame are individuals living on reserves, institutional residents, full-time members of the Canadian Forces, children in foster care, and residents of certain remote regions. The CCHS covers approximately 97% of the Canadian population aged 12 and over. Since 2007, CCHS has been an annual survey. Microdata are released annually, and every two years a file combining the full two-year sample is also released.
