The template survey includes 10 core and 4 optional modules. Topics include household characteristics, partnerships, fertility, and use of contraception. Each country developed a unique questionnaire derived from the standardized template. Sampling and data collection varied across the participating countries. In Canada, FFS data were collected in both 1990 and 1995 as part of the General Social Survey (GSS), which has been conducted annually since 1985. For the FFS 1995 (GSS Cycle 10), the sample design included 4,200 women and 3,700 men between the age of 15 and 54 years.
