France General Population Census 1975 - IPUMS

Censuses provide population numbers, household or family size and composition, and information on sex and age distribution. They often include other demographic, economic and health-related topics as well. The 1975 France de jure census collected data through face-to-face interviews and self-enumeration on housing, household demographics, employment, and migration. The census day was February 20, 1975 and fieldwork continued until March 21. A 5% sample of private dwellings and individuals in group quarters from the census (2,629,456 individuals) is available through IPUMS International at the University of Minnesota. Dwellings and vacant units are not identified in the sample. The microdata sample includes mainland France and Corsica. Refer to the IPUMS website for guidelines on citing database versions.
