Summary 

The Gambia Demographic and Health Survey (DHS) 2013 is part of Round 6 of the DHS series and the first DHS carried out in the country. The survey topics included fertility, marriage, awareness and use of family planning methods, child feeding practices, childhood mortality, and maternal and child health. Household-based measurements were collected for malaria, anemia, and HIV prevalence.

A total household sample size of 7,025 was used. A total of 11,280 women ages 15-49 and 5,591 men ages 15-59 were included in the sample.
