Summary 

The Twenty-First National Survey on Family Planning was carried out in March 1992 and surveyed married couples on behaviors and attitudes on childbearing and contraception. It utilized a stratified, multi-stage sampling method in 200 areas across Japan. Questionnaires were completed by 2,389 couples, accounting for a 70.3% collection rate. The ages of the married women respondents ranged from 16 to 50 years old. The survey has been conducted every two years since 1950. For the first time in this ongoing series, the 1992 survey fielded responses from husbands.

Results of this survey are reported in Summary of the Twenty-first National Survey on Family Planning. Some libraries may be able to procure this report through an interlibrary loan system.
