Summary 

The 2009 Non-communicable Disease (NCD) Survey in Mauritius was intended to measure the prevalence of non-communicable disease, examine risk factors associated with chronic disease, examine complications from diabetes, and measure the prevalence of sleep apnea. The survey, conducted in a nationally representative of households, had 6,371 participants: 2,904 men ages 19-78, and 3,467 women ages 19-75. In addition to self-completed questionnaires, the survey included a physical examination, blood and urine tests, and the taking of blood pressure and anthropometric measurements.
