Summary

This survey was the second wave in a longitudinal study well-being in Mexico. The first round of this survey took place in 2002. The 2005-2006 round went back to the original 2002 sample of 35,000 individuals within 8,400 households in 150 locations. This round, like the first, collected a wide range of information about each household member, including detailed demographic and socioeconomic information, migration experiences, cognitive ability, victimization, health status perceptions, and use of health services. Health measurements of height, weight, blood pressure, and blood samples were taken. Household information covering food expenditures, land use, economic activities, and victimization was also collected. This round also focused on the community through asking business owners for prices on common household items, livestock, and medicines.
