OECS Behavioral Surveillance Survey 2005-2006

Behavioral surveillance surveys (BSS) are cross-sectional surveys that provide information on the HIV/AIDS-related knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of vulnerable sub-populations. This 2005-2006 BSS for six countries of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) sought to assist the member countries in setting up a behavioral monitoring system and assess the overall effects of HIV and STD/STI prevention efforts.

Country-specific estimations were made for the general population, while mini-bus/taxi drivers and in-school youth sample sizes were calculated for regionally representative samples. A sampling frame of "youth-on-the-block" sites was constructed only for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
