Summary

The Spain Health Barometer Survey is an annual assessment for Spanish citizens to rate the functioning of the National Health System. It is used by the government to set priorities for health policy. The questionnaire solicits citizens’ perception of the functioning of public health services, waiting lists, equity in access to services, decentralization of health management, the efficacy of information campaigns, and reassessment of issues discussed in previous periods. The survey also includes measurable amounts of health care use such as visits to health care professionals, emergency room use, prescriptions received, and more.
