Sri Lanka Global Youth Tobacco Survey 2015

The Global Youth Tobacco Survey (GYTS) is nationally representative survey of students in grades 8-10. The GYTS uses a consistent, standard protocol across all participating countries and is intended to generate comparable data. The questionnaire contained 66 multiple-choice questions. The survey included 30 schools, 65 classes, and 1,505 student participants, of which 1,416 students were between the ages of 13-15 years. The survey covered topics such as demographic information, tobacco use, smoking habits, knowledge about tobacco, smokeless tobacco products, secondhand smoke, quitting smoking, and tobacco advertisements and marketing.
