Summary 

The 2002 HIES was conducted nationally except for the Northern and Eastern provinces due to prevailing conditions and the lack of a proper sampling frame in these areas. This HIES was conducted separately in these provinces from September 2002-February 2003. The summary report gives a detailed list of the districts within these provinces that were included in the sampling frame. The Northern and Eastern provinces were completely excluded from the survey years 1990-1991 and 1995-1996.
