United Kingdom - England and Wales Abortion Statistics 2011

This report covers statistics on legal abortions in England and Wales (primarily for residents) in 2011. It presents numbers and rates based on location (by Primary Care Organization or Local Health Board), National Health Service funding status of facility, maternal age, gestation period, method of abortion, and grounds for abortion (including risk that child would be born disabled--this number may be underreported in the publication). Statistics are obtained via mandatory reporting by physicians.
