All of the ACS data are survey estimates. Information collected is used by state and local governments and federal programs for planning service delivery in areas such as education, housing, and other social services and for developing infrastructure. Basic questions ask respondents about age, sex, race, ethnicity, education level, military status, income, and employment status. Additional questions address family composition and relationships, disability, transportation and access, health insurance, and housing and living conditions.
