Ghana Living Standards Survey 2012-2013
General Info
This survey is the sixth round of the Ghana Living Standards Survey (GLSS6). The purpose of this round was to gather data household consumption patterns, to provide a base for the construction of a revised Consumer Price Index, to assess use of financial services, and to investigate the demographics of the labor force, including child workers. The data were collected through in person interviews in the home. A random selection of these households were also asked to provide a sample of drinking water. A total of 16,772 households were interviewed. From these households, 3,055 water samples were collected.
This survey followed many of the same conventions of sampling, methodology, and topics as previous rounds. New for this round was the focus on the labor force through expanded questions on employment. The major thematic areas of the questionnaires were household demographic characteristics, non-farm household characteristics, community assessment, governance, peace and security, and prices.
