Côte d'Ivoire Living Standards Measurement Survey 1987-1988

Also known as the Permanent Household Survey (Enquête Permanente Auprès des Ménages), the Côte d'Ivoire Living Standards Survey (CILSS) 1987-1988 included household, community, price, and health facilities questionnaires. The 1987-88 survey was the third in a four-wave panel survey that was completed in 1989. The health facilities part was only included in 87-88. The sample size each year was 1,600 households, and for successive waves, half the original households were re-interviewed and the other half of the sample were new households.

Household data for the 1987-88 survey were collected in two rounds. Topics covered by the survey included income, private enterprises, remittances, education, fertility, and agricultural income, assets, and expenditures. The survey covered food consumption for home-grown foods only, but did include a section on food expenditures. The facility questionnaire covered cost of services, medicinal supplies, vaccines available, and personnel.
